Joe and Jean Rodriguez have had many years of experience
in remote training. Formerly heading up the pro training staff of DT Collars,
Inc., they now are consultants for DT and other brands of collars as well
as owning and operating R Place Kennel and Training Center in Hartford,
South Dakota.

They are acclaimed field and obedience trainers and also specialize in
correcting undesirable behaviors in dogs. Recommended by the Humane Society
and many local veterinarians, the Rodriguez’s work with dog owners
to eliminate behavior problems such as aggression, running away from owners – not
coming when called, digging, barking, jumping up on people and any other
behaviors that need to be changed. The use of remote trainers in field
work produces positive attitudes, confident hunters and consistently appropriate
hunting behavior.
Remote trainers are quickly becoming the training tool of choice among
results oriented trainers and pet owners. The low level of stimulation
used in remote training allows the dog to learn that he is in control of
the collar by associating the perfectly timed corrections with its own
actions. The dog learns to avoid corrections completely by making the correct
choices and behaving appropriately in any given situation. Unlike the old "shock
collar" training which was based on punishing with too high of levels
of stimulation, this method uses the technology of the low level stimulation
as a teaching tool - not a punishing tool.
The powerful benefits of remote training are apparent in the confidence
level the dog displays because of the gentle stimulation level used and
the fact that the dog quickly learns that he is in control of the collar
and learns that he controls the collar with his own actions. It is much
easier for the dog to learn and you, the trainer, can achieve consistent
and reliable results in a fraction of the time.
